Indolylimidazole ring-containing natural and synthesized compounds have shown vast biological activities. These indolylimidazole contain both indole imidazole rings. The structure resembling 1a-1d 2a-2d were by a green efficient one-pot four components condensation of indole-3-carbaldehyde, benzil, ammonium-acetate, substituted amines under microwave irradiation using Amberlyst A-15 as recyclable catalyst. structures characterized FTIR, 1H NMR, Mass spectrometric studies. compounds' antibacterial antifungal activities screened compared with the standard drug. compound 1c was found to be most active derivative in these compounds, minimum inhibitory concentration range 09.9 12.5 μg/mL. Compound 1d also showed potent activity against Candida albicans. sensitivity order 1a<1b<1c>1d Staphylococcus aureus, epidermidis, Escherichia coli 1a<1b<1c<1d for C. 2a good antimicrobial E.

Antifungal activities of some indole derivatives.

2-[4,5-Diphenyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl]-3-phenyl­propan-1-ol

In the title compound, C(29)H(25)N(3)O, the central imidazole ring forms dihedral angles of 64.7 (3), 33.5 (3) and 81.2 (2)° with the pyridyl and two phenyl substituents, respectively. An intra-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains parallel to the a axis.
